The wonderful things I could say about this woman (my Memaw) are endless. . . We couldn’t have asked for better! Not much seemed to bother her, climbing all over the furniture, in laundry baskets and making dresses out of her sheets. She was such a free soul and didn’t have a care in the world! I remember Memaw and Papaw’s nightly domino games (they never missed one), chicken and rice casseroles, funny news paper clippings, pear trees, rose bushes and her calling her car by name when it wouldn’t start. Imaginary rabbits jumping through paintings, walks down dirt roads, Cockleburs on my pant legs, homemade play dough, cinnamon toast, the Golden Girls, her teaching me to cook, trips to Amarillo and counting windmills! Sitting in the floor of her room, opening old Christmas cookie-cans/photo albums and looking at thousands of family photos. Days spent learning how to sew and playing with her old singer sewing machine. Thanksgivings with the whole family, Christmases spent decorating that old tree, with handmade decorations. . she didn’t care how it looked, or if it was lopsided. The summers and weekends spend in Clarendon Texas, are countless and the memories are something I will always hold dear to my heart! What a blessing her and Papaw are!! I know they are together now ❤️
