Louise Dwight's Obituary
COLEMAN / SHAMROCK Louise Dwight, 87, of Coleman and former Shamrock resident, died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Coleman Healthcare Center. SERVICES- 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 in the Robertson Funeral Directors Route 66 Chapel in McLean with Rev. Thacker Haynes, officiating. INTERMENT- Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean and Stevens Funeral Home of Coleman.
She was born Betty Louise Nix on January 2, 1924 in Mankins, Texas, the daughter of Elmer and Betsy Cowan Nix. She grew up Electra and Harold and graduated from high school at Harold. She married Clyde Dwight, Jr. on April 9, 1941. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2008. She worked for many years as a clerk at the Collingsworth County Courthouse. She moved from Shamrock to Coleman in 2005, was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the First Methodist Church in McLean.
She is survived by one daughter and son-on-law, Barbara and Dr. Paul Moran of Coleman; five grandchildren, Jennifer and husband John Henry of Brownwood, Joel Moran of Levelland, Jason and wife Lori Moran of Coleman, Jarrod Moran of Tecumseh, Jamie Ruth Moran of Levelland; 12 great-grandchildren, Tara, Alicia, John, Joseph, Samantha and Victoria Henry of Brownwood, Tiffany Chapman of Levelland, Megan, Emily and Sarah of Coleman, Heather and Jonathan Moran of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Thelma Sharp; three brothers, Elmer Lee Nix, Raymond Nix, Walter Gardner and a granddaughter, Michelle Moran.
A family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at Robertson Funeral Directors in McLean.
