Loueva Carolyn Henshaw's Obituary
Loueva Carolyn Henshaw (Carolyn), 89, passed peacefully on March 9, 2025. She was born on April 3, 1935 in Amarillo, Texas, to Austin McClellan and Violet Vera (Jordan) Williams.
Carolyn grew up in Amarillo, Texas and was a dedicated member of her high school choir. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953 and pursued her musical talent at North Texas State College where she became the President of the ZTA Sorority. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1957 majoring in Music.
After graduation, Carolyn moved to Dallas and worked for Reynolds Metals as a Secretary for a short time before marrying LW Henshaw, Jr. in June of 1959. Carolyn went on to have three sons; Buddy, Mark and Robert. She devoted her entire life to her family, mostly in Midland, Texas. It was here that she was active in the PTA and proud to be a poll worker for the Republican Party. She was a devoted Mom and Mamaw, always cheering on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly loved.
Carolyn was a life-long avid reader and music was also a big part of her life. She loved classical music, singing and playing the piano, attending the ballet, and singing in her church choir. She immensely enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was camping, boating, shopping, eating out, or picnicking.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, her husband, L.W. Henshaw Jr. and brother, Austin Williams. Survivors include her three sons, L.W. Henshaw, III and wife LaDonna of Hedley, Texas, Mark Thurston Henshaw and wife Jill of Granite Shoals, Texas, and Robert Lawrence Henshaw of Houston, Texas; as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Wife, Mother and Mamaw. Carolyn was deeply treasured by her family. She will continue cheering us all on among our Lord and Savior. She is profoundly missed but her memory will forever live in our hearts.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held (TBA) at Sardis Cemetery in Sardis, Texas. Funeral arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
