MEMPHIS SERVICES - 10:00 am on Saturday, September 17, 2005 in the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Bryan Knowles, Pastor of Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon, officiating. INTERMENT - Citizens Cemetery Mr. Cornell was born September 20, 1925 in Paducah, Texas to Z. C. and Lizzie Jane Acrea Cornell. He was a long-time resident of Clarendon, and then lived several years in Midland before moving to Memphis approximately 25 years ago. He had been a law enforcement officer for most of his life prior to his retirement. He was a member of Clarendon Order Of The Eastern Star Chapter 6 and a member of the Texas Sheriffs Assn. SURVIVORS - 2 daughters, Carol Waldrop and husband Tommy of Shamrock, Dianne Brunson and husband David of Muleshoe; one brother, C. W. "Dude" Cornell of Clarendon; 3 sisters, Erma Franks of Tulia, Wanda Campbell of Liberal, KS, Lorene Kirkland of Amarillo; 4 grandchildren, Colby and Crystal Waldrop of Ackerly, Jade and Zak Cottrell of Albuquerque, NM, Derek Brunson of Lubbock, Dustin Brunson of Lubbock; 3 great grandchildren, Grayson Waldrop of Ackerly, and Britton and Jace Cottrell of Albuquerque, NM. MEMORIALS - favorite charity.
