SERVICES - 10:00 AM Saturday, April 27, 2013 in the Church of Christ in Memphis with Mark Lance, pastor, officiating.
INTERMENT- Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Lloyd was born March 6, 1931 in Etoile, Texas to James and Lydia Atkinson Sargent. He married Katherine Watson on November 5, 1950 in Porter, Texas. He attended Clarendon College and obtained his nursing degree. Lloyd moved to Memphis in 1963 from Houston, and farmed in the community for many years while making a career as a nurse. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and volunteering his time. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- his parents; a brother, Clinton Sargent; and a brother-in-law, Billy Alvis.
SURVIVORS – his wife, Katherine of the home; a son Roger Sargent and wife Cynthia of Livingston; 2 brothers, James Sargent and wife Ruth of Lufkin, Charles Sargent and wife Rama of Conroe; a sister, Deloise Alvis of Huntington; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer McCarty and husband Stoney of Amarillo, Jason Sargent and wife Jennifer of Memphis, Jeff Sargent of Longview, Julie Derryberry and husband Gary Don of Lubbock, Tedra Kinsey and husband Kevin of McLean; 8 great-grandchildren Marlee, Jasie, Zach, Trinity, Jake, Scarlett, Tanner, and Jaxxon.
The family request memorials be sent to Memphis Meals on Wheels or Fairview Cemetery Association.
