Linda Ann Heckman's Obituary
Linda Ann Rudder Heckman of Fredericksburg, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, in Kerrville, Texas, at the age of 81.
Linda was born on November 29, 1943, in Spur, Texas, to Elgie and Thelma Rudder. She graduated from Amarillo High School before marrying Melvin “Louis” Heckman Jr. in 1962. Linda and her beloved "Louie" demonstrated the sanctity of a godly marriage for 62 years before her passing.
Linda entered the workforce after getting married and spent most of her career as a Legal Assistant. She worked hard in her career, and her trademark warmth and kindness allowed her to easily embrace new friendships. Above all, she was known as a woman who loved the Lord Jesus and her family. During one of her last days on this earth, Linda poured out one of the most beautiful prayers ever heard while surrounded by family. She loved attending events involving her kids and grandkids.
She especially loved having her house full of family during holidays and special occasions to share meals, especially Mexican food, and tasty desserts. Her joyful and loving presence will certainly be missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her husband Louis Heckman and their dog Charlie; their son Tracy Heckman (Libby) and their children Bryce Heckman (Vanessa), Cole Heckman (Danielle), and Blake Heckman (Priscilla); their son Todd Heckman (Karen) and their children Tyler Heckman (Kasside), Ashlyn Scaggs (Luke), Gabriella Heckman and Anna Grace Heckman; and their three great-grandchildren Hailee Heckman, Ally Heckman and Jett Scaggs; her brother Bobby Rudder (Anita) and her sister Glenda McCullough.
She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Linda’s life. A visitation will be held on July 12, 2025, 1:00 to 2:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm, both to be held at First Baptist Church of Fredericksburg, Texas. Burial will follow on July 14, 2025, at Citizen’s Cemetery in Clarendon, Texas, at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse or Texas on Missions for the Texas Hill Country July 4th flood victims.
