Lillian Blanche Brown's Obituary
CLAUDE SERVICES- 2:00 pm on Monday, February 23, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church in Claude with Rev. Delbert Serratt, retired Baptist minister, & Rev. Janet Edwards, Pastor, officiating. Cremation & Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Brown was born on March 12, 1931 at Vega, Texas, the fourth child of Cosey T. and Blanche Johnson Everett. She graduated from Vega High School in 1949. In August of 1949 she married Harold V. Farmer of Walsh, CO. They lived in Walsh and later moved to Springfield. To this union was born two children, Ronny and Jan. She and Harold farmed and rached in Baca County, Colorado along with operating two local business establishments. Later she earned her license as a cosmetologist and owned and operated a Cosmetology School in Great Bend, KS. Harold died in a plane crash in 1975 trying to land his crippled aircraft at the Springfield airport. On June 27, 1980 she married Johnny M. Brown of Claude, and together they owned and operated Johnny’s Hometown Foods in Claude. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Claude and a former member of the Business Women’s Club and UMW of the church. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- her first husband in 1975; her father in 1962; her mother in 1982; and three brothers, Jack L. in 1934; Cosey Jr. in 2002; and Jim in 2004. SURVIVORS- her husband, Johnny M. Brown; her son, Ronny Farmer of Lamar, CO; her daughter, Jan Farmer of Wailuku, HI; a sister, Betty Goodin of Claude; one grandson, Erick Farmer of Yuma, CO; 4 granddaughters, Ashley Farmer of Lamar, CO, Lindsay Farmer Pederson and husband Leif of Seattle, WA, Brianna Farmer of Jackson Hole, WY, & Jenna McKown of Wailuku, HI; two nephews, Terry Everett and wife Jennifer of Kim, CO, & Barry Everett and wife Dr. Meganne Walsh of Amarillo; a niece, Marylin Chastine and husband Bemon of Hugoton, KS; a stepson, John Brown of Dallas; a special stepdaughter, Karen Brown of Claude; four step grandson, Tyler Brown of Claude, Matthew, Jonathan, and Nicholas Brown of Dallas, a step great grandson, Vinson Aaron Brown of Dallas, many wonderful in-laws in the Texas Panhandle and special friends in the Colorado, Kansas, and Texas area. MEMORIALS- The family request memorials be to Claude Volunteer Fire Department, Claude EMS / PO Box 231 / Claude, TX 79019, or to a charity of your choice.
