McLEAN SERVICES - 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 in the McLean Church Of Christ with Rev. Thacker Haynes, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church in McLean, officiating. INTERMENT - Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean. ARRANGEMENTS - Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean. Mrs. Hess, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born in McLean on October 6, 1920 to Rish and Effie Cash Phillips. She had lived in McLean most of her life. She graduated from McLean High School and attended Abilene Christian College and Texas State College for Women. She married Faris Jake Hess on April 18, 1942 at McLean. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and was active in the Texas Cowbells and several civic organizations in McLean. She was involved in getting a nursing home in McLean and was involved in the McLean Nursing Home Auxiliary. She was a savy bridge player. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - her husband of 64 years, Faris Jake Hess; her parents; and a brother, William Clayborn Phillips. SURVIVORS - a daughter, Nancy Blackburn of Houston; a son, Jake Hess of McLean; 5 grandchildren, Stephen Hudson and wife Toni of Temple, Tres Hess and wife Dana of Stratford, Hillary Stull and husband Brad of San Antonio, Tanner Hess and wife Christy of McLean, and Heather Braden and husband Kevin of Stratford; and 10 great grandchildren, Charlie, Ty, Shay, Spencer, Sarah, Jacob, Amanda, Luke, Bryce, and Madison.
