ALANREED GRAVESIDE SERVICES- 2:00 PM Monday, October 7, 2013 in Darsey Cemetery, North of Alanreed, with Rev. Thacker Haynes and Ronnie Ferguson, officiating. INTERMENT- Darsey Cemetery in Alanreed. DIRECTIONS TO CEMETERY- Turn North on FM 291; Go 3 miles and turn east onto County Road Y and look for signs to take you into the cemetery. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean. Les was born March 10, 1928 in Wichita Falls to Raymond E. and Edna Darsey. He had been a resident of McLean/Alanreed most of his life. He grew up wanting to be a cowboy and he became a cowboy his whole life working on his family ranch north of Alanreed. He was great at chuck wagon cooking later in life and was very successful. Les also enjoyed fishing. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- his parents; a son, Todd Darsey; a sister, Norma Purcell. SURVIVORS - a son, Mike Darsey and wife Leslie of McLean; 2 grandchildren, Melissa and Trent Darsey; a very special companion, Carol Lax; 5 step children; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren and those dear to him were Tonya Whipkey, Trudy Davis, Whitney Davis, and Jessie Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews. MEMORIALS - The family request memorials be sent to the McLean/Lefors Ambulance service or the McLean Volunteer Fire Department.
