SERVICES- 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in the First Baptist Church in Shamrock with Rev. Mark Howard, officiating
INTERMENT – Shamrock Cemetery, Shamrock, TX
ARRANGEMENTS - Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Leone was born September 13, 1922 in Twitty to George and Gertrude Hefley. She married Billy Cantrell on August 31, 1941 in Twitty. She had been a longtime resident of Shamrock before moving to Amarillo 5 years ago. She served on the Shamrock Hospital Board for several years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and took pride in her geraniums. She also enjoyed writing stories of the past about her life and her experiences. She loved her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a caregiver to her mother and sisters for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shamrock where she taught Sunday school for 50 years. Single most important thing to her was her faith in Jesus Christ.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- her parents; her husband on January 31, 1986; 2 infant sisters; her 2 sisters, Wilma Hefley and Glenna Hefley; and her grandson, Robert Garrett Baxter.
SURVIVORS- 4 sons, Ron Cantrell and wife Pam of Bastrop, Wendell Cantrell and wife Jann of Johannesburg, South Africa, Phil Cantrell and wife Barbara of Runaway Bay, and Roy Cantrell and wife Kay of Las Cruces, New Mexico; a daughter, Cindy Baxter and husband James of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
