Leo "Pete" Hamilton Pool's Obituary
CLAUDE MEMORIAL SERVICES – Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Claude Activity Center Building with Jess Little, pastor of Grace Community Bible Association, officiating. Cremation by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Leo H. “Pete” Pool was born April 1, 1937 in Parker, Arizona to Odes Pool and Lena Belle Terry. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Pete was raised and worked in logging woods for many years. Before moving to Claude in 1981, he was in the construction business. Pete remodeled homes in and around Claude for many years. Pete married Inez Conrad Eddleman on July 30, 1982 in Dolores, Colorado. He immediately adopted Inez’s three grown daughters into the family with his two sons. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his father; his mother; and by a brother. SURVIVORS – by his wife of 31 years, Inez; by two sons, James and Wendy Pool of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Doug Pool of Sutherland, Oregan; by three daughters, Rhonda and Randy Fraser, Glenda and Kenneth Battenfield, and Pat and Johnnie Smith, all of Claude; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; as well as numerous others in the community that he considered and treated as grandchildren and who know him as “grandpa” as well. He is also survived by his stepmother, Marie King of Parker, Arizona; three brothers, Harlan and Shirley Pool of Rattan, Oklahoma, Gene and Bunny Pool of Anchorage, Alaska, Dennis Pool of Parker, Arizona; four sisters, Rita Wilderson of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Sonja Campbell of Antlers, Oklahoma, Sally and Lester Horst of Woodland, California, and Mona and David Martinez of Pueblo, Arizona; and by numerous nieces and nephews. MEMORIALS - The family requests that memorials be to the American Lung Association, Claude Ambulance Fund, BSA Hospice, or one’s favorite charity of choice.
