Lavell was born April 8, 1931, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Everett Rhodes Claxton and Gladys Mae Morris Claxton. Lavell grew up in Pauls Valley and graduated high school from Pauls Valley High. She married her first love William Haulby Dean a young rough neck from Newcastle, Oklahoma who later became a farmer and banker. Lavell and Haulby had one daughter Kathy Dean, one granddaughter Ashlee Standridge and one great granddaughter Abriana Santi. Lavell was a wonderful housewife and mother who loved and believed in Jesus and took great pride in her home and taking care of her family. Lavell was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis, Texas and loved going to Sunday School and Church along with her family. Haulby and Lavell were very active in Kathy’s school activities and never missed a basketball game which they loved to watch. Lavell took care of her granddaughter Ashlee during the day while Kathy worked until Ashlee was school age and was an excellent grandmother and great grandmother to Abriana Santi. After Haulby died in 1988 Lavell married the second love of her life Loyd Becker in 1991 a successful cotton farmer from Memphis, Texas. She became stepmother to Stephen Becker and Scott Becker. She was married to Loyd for 27 years until his death in November 2018. Lavell and Loyd were able to travel the United States and take vacations in their mobile home which they loved to do with friends and family members. Lavell cherished any time spent with family, and always looked forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Lavell’s other hobbies included playing in a bridge club with her friends and going to town to shop or drink a coke with friends and visit. She loved going to the country with Loyd and riding around in the pickup to see the cotton. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Her smile and laughter will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
