Larry Don "Shorty" Maddox, 79, of Memphis died Monday, October 5, 2020 in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Robertson Funeral Directors Heritage Chapel in Memphis.
Cremation & Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Larry was born June 25, 1941 in Hall County to Henry and Gertie Maddox. He had been a lifetime resident of Hall County. He had served as Hall County Commissioner for several years and was looking forward to serving as Hall County Commissioner again as of January 2021. He enjoyed going to the Old Fashion Freeze every morning, gardening, and doing dirt work. He loved his family especially his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, James Maddox, William Maddox, Taner Maddox, Winfred Maddox, and Benny Maddox; and 3 sisters, Margaret Lawhorn, Emma Jo Sims, and Raye Bailey.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Ivy of Amarillo; his sons, Terry Maddox of Amarillo and Donlee Maddox of Estelline; 2 brothers, Gordon Maddox of Howardwick, and Roy Maddox of Perryton; a sister, Gaye Knox of Memphis; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
