Larry Vaughn Lister's Obituary
Larry Vaughn Lister, 70, of Kelton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 1, 2022 in Amarillo.
Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 8, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Shamrock with Pastor Mark Howard, officiating. Burial will follow in Kelton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, October 7, 2022, at Robertson Funeral Directors in Shamrock.

Larry was born September 21, 1952 in Wellington, TX to Vaughn and Alice Lister. He was a 1971 graduate of Shamrock High School. Larry faithfully served in the Texas Army National Guard for 6 years. Larry married Melissa Hooten on September 30, 1983 in Kelton, TX. He was a member of Shamrock First Baptist Church for 34 years. He loved his church family and faithfully served the Lord as a deacon for 24 years. Larry also served the Kelton Community by serving on the Kelton ISD School Board for 32 Years. He cared about the Kelton Community greatly and it was his favorite place to be.
Larry was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his wife, his children, and grandchildren wholeheartedly. He was affectionately known as “Baba” to his grandchildren. He was a kind person to everyone. He was well known for his faithfulness and caring for others. Larry gave 100% to everything he did. He was a hard working farmer and rancher for 38 years and bought his first piece of land at age 16. He enjoyed gardening in the summertime as a hobby. He also spent his time mowing and running his lawn care business for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vaughn and Alice Lister and sister, Glenda Wischkaemper.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Lister of the home; three daughters, Leandra Henthorn and husband Anson of Canyon, Erin Mason and husband Nathan of Shamrock, and Paige Meesala and husband Sastry of India; his sister, Janice Revels and husband David of Rockwall, TX; a brother, Darrell Lister and wife April of Shamrock; six grandchildren, Hawk, Scout, and Oakley Mason, Samuel and Olivia Henthorn, and Joshua Meesala.
