Kevin Delane Belisle's Obituary
Kevin Delane Belisle
October 28, 1959 - May 22, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Belisle May 22, 2025.
Kevin passed unexpectedly at the age of 65 in the small town of Memphis, TX.
He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, October, 29 to Roger and Jo Ann Belisle, growing up at Big Marine Lake, Minnesota, where he graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1977. Working full time, he stacked lumber for Villaume Industries and built solar panels for Honeywell. Later, he worked in the drywall industry- including asbestos removal in Hawaii in 1991. Later, he worked as a residential and commercial well driller.
In 2001, he married Jodi Larson, parting ways in 2011. Kevin has 1 son Cameron, born in '82. They had many wild adventures, showing Cam how to live life to the fullest, including 36 consecutive years at the BIR "Zoo" at the raceway in Brainerd! Known as "Kaveman" he made many friends and acquaintances through the years, who remember his quick wit, enthusiasm and fun stories.
After a few odd jobs he retired in 2018, hitting the open road in his RV and proclaiming himself a professional race fan! He traveled to many different states, visiting close friends and attending local racing events. In 2021 he found his new home in Clarendon, TX. Many have asked why he chose this town? If you knew Kevin, and ever visited Clarendon, you will understand why...he enjoyed the famous "Route 66" attractions surrounding the area. Kevin became grandpa Kaveman in 2021. He was so excited to become a grandpa and enjoyed hearing about William's accomplishments in karate, school, and sports. In their visits to Texas, William and Kevin were able to bond by taking Golf cart trips to the flea market, having water balloon fights, telling stories about motorcycles and hot wheels and helping take care of Nugget.
Being a race fan, Kevin was extremely proud of his son Cam and his racing accomplishments. He was truly Cam's number 1 biggest fan! My dad would always tell me "You can't win them all" to which I would reply "It would be nice to win once in awhile" when racing didn't go as planned- but I believe that my dad won at life!
Here are a few words by Kevin's life long friend Ron Dixon that sum up how he lived life...
"What we can take away from Kevin-
Always be enthusiastic about the moment in which we live! Do not worry about the past or be obsessed with the future. Take from today whatever it may offer and think along the lines of having a good time in the present without losing touch with old friends and memories of years ago.
Now is our time, not yesterday or tomorrow. Downplay the bad and uplift the good. Smile and inspire others.
This is what Kevin lived by in the years of his life and may his good cheer always remind us to do the same. Happiness can be achieved by embracing today, the pure glory of everyday life."
Kevin is preceded in death by his father and step mother Roger and Jan Belisle, Aunt and Uncle Ray and Bertha Belisle.
Kevin will forever be loved and missed by his son Cam, daughter-in-law Kim, grandson William, many close friends, and his beloved 1975 Z1 900 Kawasaki "Mean Green"
