CLAUDE
MEMORIAL SERVICES- 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 26, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in Claude with Royce Mason, Pastor of the Great Plains Western Church of Claude, officiating.
Kenneth Delton Dye passed from this earth on January 23rd and into Heaven to be with the Lord. Kenneth was born April 5, 1938 in Claude to Delton & Fannie Mae Best Dye descendants of one of the pioneer farming families in Armstrong County. He graduated from Claude High School in 1956, went on to attend Texas A&M University and was a farmer in the Claude area for many years. Kenneth served the community as a law enforcement officer, for over 20 years, with the Hale County Sheriff’s Office, Plainview Police Department, Potter County Sheriff’s Office, and the Armstrong County Sheriff’s Office. Kenneth was the Armstrong County Sheriff in 1993 and was raised as a Master Mason in 1963. Kenneth was instrumental in the building of the Great Plains Western Church, in Claude, where he was a Charter Member and Trustee.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY- his previous wife, Pat; his parents; stepson, Bobby Holman; an aunt, Mary Lou Beverly.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE- his wife, Kay of the home; 4 sons, Dale Dye and wife Connie of Arlington, David Dye of Canyon, Steve Dye and wife Mimi of Allen, and Mike Corbitt and wife Melissa of LaGrange; 2 stepsons, Kevin Buhrkuhl of Kileen, & Stephen Holman of Del Rio; a sister, Leta Walker and husband Jim of Amarillo; 13 beautiful grandchildren; as well as his loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS - The family request memorials be to Great Plains Western Church, Claude EMS, or Claude Fire Department.
The body will not be available for viewing.
