Kay Luttrell's Obituary
Kay Luttrell of Briscoe, TX passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 in Pampa, TX at the age of 67 years and 27 days. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Cornerstone Church in Wheeler, TX, with Andy Taylor and Erron Mercer officiating. Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Kay was born on December 6, 1955 in Shamrock, TX to L.D. “Fat” Childress and Wanda Jean Swift Childress. She grew up in Briscoe, TX and graduated from Briscoe High School, where she played volleyball and basketball. Kay was a very hard-working lady, both at home and at work. Over the years, she worked as a secretary for Briscoe Grain, L.D. Childress Trucking and Eastern Panhandle Insurance. Kay was very dedicated to her entire family, always willing to help in any way possible. She was a great cook and enjoyed many activities, including hunting, fishing and working with cows.
Preceding Kay in death were her father; her grandparents, Addie and Buster Swift and Lloyd and Clara Childress; and one brother, Wayne Childress.
Survivors include her husband, Scott Luttrell of Briscoe, TX; her mother, Wanda Childress of Briscoe, TX; two daughters, Brandi Simmons of Wheeler, TX and Susie Umsted of Elk City, OK; 3 sisters, Cathy Hunt of Briscoe, Jane Dukes of Briscoe and Tammy Andris and Timmy of Wheeler, TX; five grandchildren, Kayleigh Coomer, Brody Umsted, Ransley Hibler, Karson Stevens and Trapper Stevens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to BSA Harrington Cancer Center, 1751 Wallace Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79106.
