Kathy Sue Vaughn's Obituary
Kathy Sue Vaughn, 67, of Groom, Texas passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Amarillo.
Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 14, 2024 in the First Baptist Church in Groom with Rev. Thacker Haynes, officiating. Burial will follow in Groom Cemetery in Groom.
Viewing will be held prior to the service from 12:00-1:30 PM at the church.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Kathy was born July 7, 1956 in Amarillo to John and Mary Gertrude Chamblee Coe. She married Dennis Lee Vaughn on February 1, 1979 and was married for 40 years before the passing of Dennis. She loved crocheting, playing cards, spending time with family & friends. Most of all, her favorite past time was spending time with her grandson Eli. She worked for Ruby Denton at the Grill for over 10 years then Allsup's for 15 years. She had fought breast cancer for almost 3 years, along with many other ailments. Kathy was hard working, loyal, easy loving, funny, blunt. You always knew where she stood on a topic.
She is preceded by her mother and father; a sister Marie; a niece Diane; and the love of her life Dennis.
She is survived by her daughters Jamie Tolleson & husband Coy of Panhandle, and Amy Larkan and boyfriend Warren Shwarz of Amarillo; a grandson Eli Larkan; her sisters, Pat Pool of Groom and Frances Clancy of Amarillo; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
