Kathy JoAnn Kirkland Maupin's Obituary
SHAMROCK SERVICES- 10:00 am Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the First Baptist Church in Shamrock with Rev. Mike Martin, Pastor, officiating. INTERMENT- Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean. Visitation will be held Monday at the First Baptist Church in Shamrock from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Mrs. Maupin was born September 24, 1950 in Bottineau, North Dakota to Cecil Walter and Opal Nell Goodwin Hulse. She had been a resident of McLean where she owned a restaurant, prior to moving to Shamrock in 1971. She married Gary Lee Maupin on March 23, 2002 at Shamrock. Kathy’s greatest love in her life was her family. She also owned and operated a Christian store in Shamrock named “Inspirations” which welcomed everyone and all denominations while making them feel at home. She opened her heart and soul to the community by assisting those in need, those who were less fortunate and those returning from the hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active in their Bible study class and with the AWANAs Childrens Programs. She was also an active member of the Shamrock Chamber of Commerce. She will be greatly missed by all.
SURVIVORS - her husband, Gary Lee Maupin of Shamrock; 2 daughters, Jennifer “Jeni” Werenskjold of Ogden, Utah, Jamie Lee “Skeet” Moon of Shamrock; 2 sons, Scott J. Nickerson of Midland, Steven D. Nickerson of Shamrock; 3 sisters, Francis Farley of Gillette, Wyoming, Nina Wlee of Minot, North Dakota, Sandy Wentz of Bismark, North Dakota; a brother, Dale “Buck” Hulse of Bottineau, North Dakota; 16 grandchildren; and a nephew, Perry Hulse of Billings, Montana. MEMORIALS - The family suggests that memorials be to the First Baptist Church AWANAs Ministry in Shamrock or the Shamrock Cemetery Association.
