Karen Garcia's Obituary
Karen Arlene Garcia passed in peace at her place of residence on July 5, 2022 following a long and hard fought battle with multiple health issues. She was a larger than life personality and
had the heart to match.
A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church in Shamrock, TX at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2022.
Services are entrusted to Robertson Funeral Directors in Shamrock, TX.
Karen was born on September 16, 1959 as one of four children to Burrell and Catherine Dame. From the beginning Karen was a headstrong, impassive, and spirited child who would possess those
qualities into adulthood.
Karen graduated from Buffalo High School in 1977 and in 1986 she would marry her husband of 35 years, Johnny. They would reside in Shamrock,TX where they raised their three children Jennifer,
Ashley, and Anthony.
Karen was a lifelong hard worker who had many interesting jobs and undoubtedly put effort and love into each one. She enjoyed the little things in life such as gardening, taking her chances
on the slots, jamming out to classic country and rock music, watching tv and movies, and sipping on a good cup of coffee. She was kind to strangers and a true defender of those she loved. Karen expressed a type of cheer that made bleak points in other’s lives
brighter.
Karen is preceded in death by her father Burrell Dame. She is survived by her husband Johnny Garcia of Shamrock, daughter Jennifer Dame of Shamrock, daughter Ashley McLaughlin and husband Johnathon
of Borger, son Anthony Garcia of Samnorwood, mother Catherine Dame, a sister and two brothers all of Buffalo, MO, four grandchildren and a slew of extended family and friends and strangers she would love to have met.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the entire staff of Wheeler Nursing and Rehabilitation for their unconditional support and care provided to Karen.
