Karen Louise Bateman's Obituary
Karen Louise Bateman, 75, of Shamrock, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in Shamrock.
Memorial services will be 12:00 PM Monday, May 11, 2026 in Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock.
Cremation and arrangements are under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Karen was born on July 15, 1950, in Vermont, Illinois, to Willard F. Teel and Zelma Aten Teel. She was united in marriage to Charles G. “Charlie” Bateman on January 6, 1990, in Hardesty, Oklahoma. Karen made her home in Shamrock beginning in 1993, where she became a valued member of the community. She worked as a manager at Family Dollar until her retirement and was known for her dedication and warm spirit.
A woman of deep faith, Karen was a devoted member of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock since August 1993. Her faith guided her life and was a source of strength and comfort to her and those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Charlie Bateman, on March 23, 2026; her sisters, Rose Padilla and Janice Eileen Jensen; and her brothers, William Eugene Teel and Roger Teel.
Karen is lovingly remembered by her sons, James M. Thompson, Jr. and Tony L. Thompson, both of Arlington, Texas; her sisters, Ann Guest of Shamrock, Carrie Sue Carey and husband Lynn of Rushville, Illinois, Joyce Gallegos and husband Charlie of Tucumcari, New Mexico, Barbara Huston of Pampa, and Vickie Wilcox of Pampa; her brothers, David Teel and wife Tammy of Arkansas City, Kansas, and Robert Teel of Lexington, Oklahoma; as well as her five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock.
