Karen Janelle Askew's Obituary
Karen Janelle West Askew, 84, of Amarillo died on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Amarillo.
Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in the Robertson Saints’ Roost Chapel in Clarendon. Burial will follow in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Karen was born September 12, 1937 in Muleshoe to Edward and Margaret West. She went to Elida School 1st through 12th grade where she was a cheerleader, student council, and FFA sweetheart. She married Jerry Askew after graduation on June 1, 1955. She worked at Gebo’s, West Texas Western Store, manager of Nocona Boot Outlet Store, and commodity comptroller at Keeling Cattle Feeders for 21 years. She never took a sick day for 44 years in the work force. In their spare time, they square danced, gardened, and played with grand kids. They traveled to all games and activities to watch the kids. She attended Church of Christ, First Christian Church, and Cowboy Church. She had been a resident of Amarillo the past 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Eddie West.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Askew; her children, Danny Askew and wife Terry, Andi Odom and husband Curtis, Leigh and Cathy Askew; her grandchildren, Dale Askew, Katie Askew, Dalton Askew, Jarod Hudgens, Alex Hudgens, Barry Askew, and Bayleigh Askew; 11 great grandchildren and sister in laws, LaReece Miller and Ronda Brown.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to a charity of choice.
