June Vearner Blakemore's Obituary
June Vearner Blakemore, 90, of Shamrock died Monday, June 11, 2018 in Shamrock.
Services will be Thursday, June 14, 2018 in the Eleventh St. Baptist, Shamrock at 2:00 PM with Rev. Joe Jernigan and Rev. Travis Leamon, officiating.
Interment will be in Shamrock Cemetery, Shamrock, TX.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
June Vearner Blakemore was born April 27, 1928 in Shamrock to James Minor and Alice Verdie Brown Vearner. She graduated from Shamrock High School with the class of 1945. Mrs. Blakemore married James Andrew Blakemore, home from service in the second world war, April 13, 1947.
June and Jim had two children, Richard Dale and Gloria Danette Blakemore both of Shamrock; two granddaughters, Pam of Austin, TX and Shasta Ann Marie of Shamrock; a grandson, Jimmy Dale Blakemore and wife Rebecca of Buchanan Dam, TX.
June was president of the Panhandle Pen Women’s Club and was published in Readers Digest, “Life in These United States.” She volunteered for the Texas long term Care Ombudsman Program. She also served residents in Shamrock, Wheeler and McLean Nursing Homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother; Donald Vearner.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 4:00 – 5:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to Eleventh St. Baptist Church, Shamrock Public Library or to Panhandle Pet Savers, Amarillo.
