Joyce Lee Edwards' Obituary
Joyce Lee Edwards, 94, of Wheeler, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in Wheeler.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Wheeler Cemetery, with Erron Mercer officiating. Viewing will take place on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Joyce was born on July 14, 1931, in Carey, Texas, to Thomas Morgan and Lillie Frances Smith Bowman. She made Wheeler her home in 1940 and spent more than six decades working alongside her husband Wayne at Wheeler Lumber Company. Known for her quiet strength and steadfast dedication, Joyce was deeply devoted to her family. She especially cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne, who passed away in 2007; her sons, Monnie Edwards and Marty Edwards; and her brother, John D. Bowman, Sr.
Joyce is survived by her grandchildren: Marquita Brown and husband Frank of Las Vegas, Nevada; Micah Edwards and wife Jessica of Elk City, Oklahoma; Mason Edwards and wife Tiffany of Lubbock, Texas; and Mendall Edwards and wife Nicole of Lockhart, Texas. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family requests that memorials be made to Parkview Assisted Living in Wheeler or to BSA Hospice of the Southwest.
