Joseph "Bud" Paine's Obituary
Joseph "Bud" Paine, 86, of Groom died Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Amarillo.
Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in First Baptist Church in Groom with Rev. Andy Dietz, officiating. Burial will follow in Groom Cemetery in Groom.
Viewing will be held from 11:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at the Church.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Bud was born March 31, 1936 in Childress, Texas to Joseph Homer and Goldie McRae Paine. He married Ida Louise Steward on September 3, 1959. He was a US Navy veteran and worked as a restaurant owner prior to his retirement. He volunteered with Faith City Missions in Amarillo for over 10 years. He enjoyed watching football, woodworking, horses, traveling, and going to the mountains. He did a great job taking care of his wife, which he loved very much. He was a big student of the Bible and loved the Lord. Bud was a member of the First Baptist Church in Groom.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tammi Paine in 2020; and his sister, Peggy Bellah.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Paine of Groom; his son, Jay Paine and wife Angie of Amarillo; his daughter, Terri Spake and husband John of Mora, New Mexico; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
The family request memorials be sent to Faith City Missions in Amarillo.
