SERVICES – 11:00 am Saturday, April 9, 2016 in The Chapel at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis with Rev. Daniel Downey, officiating.
INTERMENT- Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
ARRANGEMENTS - Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Skipper was born December 22, 1951 in Amarillo to Christene and John H. Murdock, Jr. He had worked in road construction prior to his retirement. He had been a resident of Memphis and later Weatherford, Oklahoma before moving to Dumas 22 years ago. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Dumas.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his father; his mother and stepfather, Christene and Delbert Hightower; and his brother, Buddy Murdock.
SURVIVORS- 2 sons, Corey Murdock of Childress and Hunter Murdock and wife Alyssa of El Reno, Oklahoma; a daughter, Stacie Smith and husband Lynn of Wellington; a sister, Patsy Black and husband Charles of Dumas; 5 grandchildren, Riley Murdock, Zeth Murdock, Aeryn Murdock, Carter Smith, and Jackson Smith; a niece, Tracie Shillings and husband Steve of College Station; a great niece, Courtney Shillings of Bay City; and a great nephew, Justin Shillings of Amarillo.
MEMORIALS- The family request memorials be sent to Moore County Hospice.
