John Milton Hunt's Obituary
John Hunt, 68, of Shamrock, passed away on Monday, October 04, 2021 in Shamrock.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 9, 2021 a 2:00 PM in the Eleventh St. Baptist Church, Shamrock, with Rev. Thacker Haynes, officiating. Burial will be in the Lela Cemetery, Lela, Texas.
Viewing will be Friday, October 08, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
John Milton Hunt was born April 16, 1953 in Lubbock to Claude Lloyd and Lois Evelyn Hunt. He married Lori Kidd on June 7, 1986 in Dallas.
John graduated from McLean HS in 1971. He received his BS in Medical Technology from WTSU (WTAMU) in 1976; Masters in Pharmacology from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1984; DDS from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1987 and set up his practice in Shamrock in 1987.
John served on the Hospital Board, was a member of Shamrock Booster Club and of Shamrock Sports Boosters. He loved to support the Irish by taking part in tailgate parties to raise funds for the kids. He barbequed the best brisket, ribs and steaks—this was his passion. He hunted for arrowheads any chance he got and the same with metal detecting. John could grow the biggest, most delicious watermelons in the State of Texas; he was a member of the Golden Spread Farmer’s Market for close to 20 years. John worked and ran his family farm for over 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Lori of Shamrock; 2 sons Thomas O. Hunt & Cassie Hayek of Post and Aaron M. Hunt & Kassidy Sullivan of Damon; 1 brother Ronald Hunt & Susan of Burlington, WA; 2 sisters, Marsha Points of Tyler and Melinda Finn & husband Kevin of Dallas; 1 grandchild Bella Hayek of Post; Brothers-in-law, Jim Kidd & Karen of Duncanville; Eric Kidd & Donna of Hubbard and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
