John Marshall Griffith, 100, of Memphis, TX passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 in Amarillo.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 2 PM at Travis Baptist Church in Memphis with Don Martin officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
Viewing will be held at the funeral home in Memphis on Wednesday, September 10th from 9 AM - 6 PM with family receiving friends for visitation from 4 - 6 PM.
John Marshall Griffith was born April 2, 1925 in Anson, Jones County, Texas. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He lived a full life of grace and blessing and passed away peacefully, surrounded by three generations of his family, to his long-awaited heavenly home on September 6, 2025, making his stay on earth 100 years, 5 months, and 5 days.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, and a son, Mark.
He is survived by his four living children, (Luke, Larry, Martha, and Paul and his wife, Mary, all of Texas), three granddaughters (Connie Beth, Jinger, and Valleri), four great grandchildren (Cadance, Ryley, Bentley, and Kynslee Jayde), nieces Alice Ricke of Kansas and Priscilla Dickerson of Texas, nephew Jason Anglin of Missouri, two first cousins (Bonnie Lafawn Romines of Texas and Ima Jane Sneed of Washington), and many friends in church and community.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the VA Hospital in Amarillo or Meals on Wheels of Memphis.
