SAYRE, OKLAHOMA Services will be Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Calvary Christian Fellowship, Shamrock, TX with Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, officiating. Burial will be in Gageby Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors.
Joe Paul Smith was born May 11, 1937 in Shamrock, TX to Tom and Jessye Jewel Pike Smith. Joe married Joyce Helton on October 28, 1961 in Shamrock. He and Joyce had lived in Sayre since 1976, moving from Shamrock. Joe was a truck driver for Hutchinson Oil Co. and enjoyed watching westerns and traveling in his RV. He had served in the Army. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Crossland; a brother, Don Smith; three sisters, Madelon Banks, Adelon Armstrong and LeDawn Emmert. SURVIVORS: Wife – Joyce Smith – Sayre, OK 1 Son – Billy Crossland & Lajuana – Huntsville, TX 1 Daughter – Marsha Mitchell & Doug – Lubbock 1 Brother – Pike Smith – Amarillo 3 Sisters – Nan Mauldin – Albuquerque, NM, Rita Blackwell – Anson, TX, Billie Matlock – Denver, CO, 7 Grandchildren 12 Great Grandchildren Many nieces and nephews
