Joe Sidney Kelley's Obituary
Joe Sidney Kelley, 73, of Mobeetie died Friday, July 9, 2021 in Amarillo.
Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in the First United Methodist Church in Mobeetie with Rev. Rusty Early, officiating. Burial will follow in Wheeler Cemetery.
Viewing will be held Tuesday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Joe was born January 28, 1948 in Wheeler to Clyde Wanes and Flora Mae Kelley. He was a lifetime resident of Wheeler County and a graduate of Mobeetie High School. While in High School, he earned the nickname "Mighty Might" while playing football. He also served in the US National Guard. He married Karen Sue Long on April 20, 2000 in Pampa. Joe was a cowboy/rancher all of his life. He was a jockey and rode race horses for several years, and was a former member of the 4H Riding Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Mary Beth Schoon.
Survivors include his wife Karen Kelley of Mobeetie; his daughter, Shara Bell and husband Keith of Mobeetie; his brothers, Jeff Kelley of Mobeetie and Robert Kelley of Amarillo; his step children, Michael Love and wife Sissy of Pampa, Brad Love and wife Lisa of Wichita Falls, and Nita Louchetti of Maine; his grandchildren, Michael, Jayton, and Heather Bell; and his step grandchildren, Eddie, Joseph, Nathan, and Abby Love.
The family request memorials be sent to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
