Our beloved Joe Royal Calloway known as “Jodey” was born on February 26, 1953 in Carthage, Texas to Golee and Georgia Calloway. He married Judy Wilson on May 15, 2004. Joe was educated in the Clarendon school systems; he worked as an agricultural worker for many years in and around Clarendon. He also did various jobs throughout his lifetime. Joe had a great passion for his family, and he truly enjoyed showing them how to do the “Jodey” dance. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. Those that know him know the he had a passion for KD (Kentucky Deluxe).
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his parents, Golee and Georgia Calloway; brothers Velma (Wimpy), Charlie and John Stephen Calloway; children, Kristy and Timothy Calloway; grandson, Dustin Johnson-Calloway; great granddaughter, Eslyona Fields.
SURVIVORS- his wife, Judy Wilson Calloway; children, Cleta Calloway-Johnson, Joe Calloway (Cynthia, Esley Fields (Bridgett), Elithia Embers (Tomar), Tamika Calloway, Lori Calloway, and Diamond Calloway; stepdaughters, Tonya Sanders and April Wilson; siblings, Annie Smith (Curtis), Jewel Gardner (Larnce), Charles Calloway (Vinita), Judy Perkins (Orsbain), Gloria Smith, Phyllis Demerson (Ed), Ruby Calloway, Vanessa Malone (Ricky) and Kenneth Calloway; 23 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a special nephew and niece, Clemmie and Amanda Smith; and a host of other nephews, nieces, other family members, friends, and extended family.
