Jimmy Wayne Swinney, 79, of Clarendon died on Friday, February 1, 2019 in Amarillo.
Memorial Services will be 3:00 PM Monday, February 4, 2019 in Robertson Funeral Directors Saints’ Roost Chapel in Clarendon with Stan Leffew, officiating.
Cremation & Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Jimmy was born December 29, 1939 in Hedley to Dalton Howard and Mary Lucille Parker Swinney. He was a US Navy veteran and also served as a peace officer for several years. He had been a resident of Clarendon and Donley County most of his life and had lived in Guymon, Oklahoma for 20 years. He loved roping and walking. Jimmy was a member of VFW Post 7782 in Clarendon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jerry Swinney; and a sister, Cydne Randall.
Survivors include his son, Shane Swinney of Amarillo; a daughter Tami Gilliam and husband Gary of Saratoga, Texas; a sister, Jackie Page of Sulphur Springs; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family request memorials be sent to the Veterans Administration (VA).
