Jim Seymour's Obituary
Jim Seymour, 91, of Claude, Texas, our precious dad, passed away on Resurrection Sunday morning, April 5, 2026, to his eternal home.
He was born September 8, 1934, in Canyon, Texas, to Albert and Reba Seymour. He married his precious wife, Jean (Davis) Seymour, on December 5, 1953 in Clovis, NM. They moved to Claude, Texas in 1962. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He began as a young man working as a pipe liner for Don Foran. He then owned Seymour Garage. Afterwards, he owned Seymour Backhoe and Ditching, working as a utility contractor for over 60 years. He has laid utility pipe all over Amarillo and the surrounding areas, including many local families and businesses.
He was gifted in so many things, and was full of wisdom and knowledge in everything. As King Solomon was, he had wisdom in many categories and subjects.
“ For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge.” Proverbs 2:6.
Jim was very witty and fun, and he always had good stories to tell. He was a good communicator and teacher. He loved to ride motorcycles with family in the mountains. They would ride many off-road trails, (deer trails), even the Continental Divide.
He knew motors forwards and backwards. He even built his own motor. Every single part of it.
He was always kind and gentle-hearted. Many were inspired by his friendship and wisdom. He was quick to encourage and speak life to all he came in contact with. He loved to tell others of his wonderful Jesus. His life preached!
“A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things.”
Matthew 12:35.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Reba Seymour. His siblings; Clarence Seymour, Mildred Phillips, Doris Smith, Betty Rusk, Kenneth Seymour and Lou Howard. A baby daughter, Laura Ellen Seymour, and his precious wife, Jean Seymour.
