Jewell Dean Gallaway's Obituary
Jewell Dean Gallaway, 77, of McLean, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas.
Memorial services will be held privately at a later date.
Cremation and arrangements are under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean.
Jewell was born on January 1, 1949, in Rome, Georgia, to Albert Monroe and Gladys Ely Highfield. She married Daniel Dean Gallaway on November 4, 1966, in Scurry County, Texas. She worked alongside her husband as secretary for the Lucky 7 CB Club in Georgia. In 2001, they moved to McLean, where Jewell devoted her time to serving others through volunteer work with Young at Hearts, Helping Hands, and Loaves and Fishes ministries.
She enjoyed working puzzles, reading, watching red birds, and spending time on the computer. Above all else, Jewell treasured her family and the time she shared with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Thomas Deaton; and a sister, Debbie Ingram.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Daniel Gallaway of McLean; her daughters, Angila Cook and husband, Jamey, of Pampa, Toffia Weaver of McLean, and Donna Payne and husband, Ty, of Pampa; her brothers, Albert Highfield of Bay Springs, Texas, Ricky Highfield of Georgia, and Kyle Highfield of Texas; her sisters, Linda Palmer of North Carolina and Laura Garrett of Georgia; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
