CLAUDE / PAMPA SERVICES - 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in the Trinity Fellowship Church in Pampa with Ronnie Goode, Associate Pastor, officiating. INTERMENT - with US Navy Honors will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Jessie was born July 28, 1940 at Shreveport, Louisiana to Jack Theron and Elizabeth Alma McPherson Young. He spent 6 years in an orphanage with his 2 brothers. He married Edna Harvey on February 13, 1965 in North Bend, Oregon. He was a US Navy veteran for 14 years and served during the Vietnam War. He also played football in high school and was an avid billiard player. He had been a longtime resident of Pampa before moving to Claude a year and a half ago. He was a longtime member of the VFW. He was the best husband, father, and grandfather. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - his parents; and a sister, Jacquelin Dean Bufkin. SURVIVORS - his wife, Edna Young of White Deer; a son, Brian David Young of Borger; 5 daughters, Ocie Garza and husband Joe of Victoria, Katrina Huston and husband Chuck of Wells, NV, Jessica Shaw and husband James of White Deer, and Tamara Kitchen and boyfriend Ryan Mears of Pampa, & J‘Lene Kitchen of Pampa; 2 brothers, James Young of Stockton, CA, and Bill Young and wife Ethelene of Louisiana; a half brother, Fred Young of Lodi, CA; a son in law, Randall Kirkland of Pampa; a brother in law, Jimmy Bufkin of Sibley, LA; his grandchildren, Kody and Amy Kirkland, Khristen and Jon Pierce, Cedric, Jessie, Francis, and Gregory Huston, Manisha Bergdoll, Keith Young, Ashley and Hailey McCord, Codie and Callum Shaw, James, Cheyene, Kenda, and Destany Young, Stormy Brawley, Nathan and Alexis Mears, Trista Ochoa, Richard and Brittany Legér, Angie Moss, Kyler Kitchen, Kaylee Kitchen, and Shadon Kitchen; and great grandchildren, Makenzie Lewis, Kadence Kirkland, Jon Rockwell Pierce IV, Trenton Channing Pierce, Jose, Michelle, Jessie Ochoa, and Laden Legér. MEMORIALS - The family request memorials be to a local VFW of choice. Viewing will be held from 12:30 pm until service time Wednesday at the Church.
