Jeff was one of the kindest people you would ever meet. If you were a man it was with a handshake and a smile but if you were a lady, it was almost always a hug. And when he did hug you, he smelled so good. Jeff loved hunting and fishing, especially with his brothers. He loved to sing and dance, especially in the kitchen with Jennifer. He was her favorite dance partner. He loved long drives on back roads and quiet nights at home. He loved time in the country with his cow dog, Gracie. More than anything, he loved his wife and daughters with everything he had. He and Jennifer were rarely apart. His favorite time was spent with them and his grandchildren and oh how he loved them. There are really no words to express how incredibly loved he was and how much more he will be missed. He lit up every room he was in.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Whimpy and Dorcille Widener.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Jennifer who will miss him with her whole heart. His daughter, Jana Stewart, husband Taylor and children MaKynna and Holden of Haskell, Texas; Courtney Krogstad, husband Lyle and children Waylon and Hattie of Dean, Texas; daughter Hanna Baucom of Rowlett, Texas; daughter Katie Stephens, husband Jake and children Bray and Carson of Altus, Oklahoma; daughter Maggie Rivera and husband Nik of Lewisville, Texas. He is also survived by four brothers: Cliff Widener of Ada, Ok; Tim Widener of Memphis, Texas; Jade Widener and wife Tonja of Memphis, Texas; and Ben Widener and wife Jane of Wellfleet, Nebraska. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. His absence will leave a void that can never be filled.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
