My friend Jay,
I haven't cried as much over the loss of someone since my father died. Jay had a way of getting into your mind and soul and life like no other. He was genuinely a people person and I am really going to miss this guy!. We not only did good business together but we shared life , stories about family, and spoke to each other pretty much everyday!. My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to his wife, children, and grandchildren and our thoughts and prayers are with you all. There is going to a special place for my friend Jay in heaven and I am looking forward to seeing what he has done with the place when I get there.

I’m so sad to hear this news this morning.
I worked with Jay for over 29 years , we talked to each almost every other week. Two weeks ago we laughed together,
I know he talked about his children and granddaughter so much with me.
Meeting him face to face was always such a honor and pleasant, A man that always had a smile and always gave his word to me.

I am so sorry to hear of Jay's passing. I wish I could have just one more call with him to check in. It has been a little while since we last talked. Over the last 5 years we had MANY chats on the phone about salvaging loads of meat and livestock, and after that, we would talk about everything else under the sun! We never got a chance to meet in person, but still I felt like we were old friends. In the cargo claims world, it was always a relief knowing I could just make one call to Jay for a load of cattle or a trailer of combos, and he would just take over and handle EVERYTHING. Jay knew everyone and everything having to do with meat of all kinds and quality. When he was sick for a while, he was sorely missed, and he will be sorely missed now. He would always ask me about my kids, and he loved talking about his kids and grandkids. I will miss his calls to check in with me. He was always a bright spot in a stressful job. Rest in peace, Jay. You were loved and appreciated.
