Janie Taylor's Obituary
Janie Taylor of Wheeler, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. In Wheeler at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 1 day. The family will hold a Celebration of her life at a future date.
Cremation and Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Janie was born in a box car on May 17, 1950 in the little town of Holyrood, Kansas to John Dalsing and Lena Burnett Dalsing. Her father worked on the railroad and the family had to travel with him as he worked. She grew up in Borger and later moved to Pampa, where she met the love of her life, Larry Taylor. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2017.
She watched and cared for many kiddos over the years, charging just a small amount so that parents could afford to work She even taught Sunday School to the toddlers and babies. In addition, Janie worked as a caregiver, as a cook in the local hospital and worked at the local Speedy Mart. She kept a beautiful flower garden and enjoyed cooking, painting and making crafts. She loved watching Soaps on TV and playing card games with her family. She adored her family and was always there to listen to them, encourage them and share wisdom with them.
Janie was preceded in death by her husband Larry Forest Taylor; parents, John and Lena Dalsing; sister-in-law, Phyllis Taylor Knowles; brother-in-law, Richard "Skip" Cochran; sister, Sandra Dalsing Hemphill; grandson-in-law, Chris Butler; and her great grandson, Christopher Butler Jr.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Lori Dawn Taylor and Stephanie Taylor Burrell; sister, Linda Dalsing McPherson; 2 granddaughters, Cortney Rascon and husband Martin, Jessica Steen and Taylor Smith and husband Lane; grandson, Jonathon Burrell; brother-in-law, David Hemphill; nieces and nephews, Randy, Julie, Melissa, Shantillee, Kimberly, Junior, Barry and Crissy; and many great grands, Zakarey, Landon, Hayden, Abella, Kayson, Ruger, Ryker, Kash, Athena, Aceon and Jasper.
