Janie Sue Sorrells Grissom, 85, of Claude, Texas died Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in Amarillo, Texas.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 23, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Claude with Rev. Dick Gravley and Rev. Terry Beavers, officiating. Burial will follow in Claude Cemetery.
Viewing will be held from 1:00 - 6:00 PM Thursday in Claude.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors.
Sue was born April 8. 1939 in Wellington, Texas to Loyd & Pearl Sorrells. She married Billy Grissom on June 9, 1956 in Wellington, Texas. She resided in Memphis for 24 years where she was the director for Meals on Wheels before moving to Claude. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Claude. She lived at Brookdale in Amarillo for 10 years. During that time she served as ambassador for 6 years and enjoyed working in the boutique. She enjoyed plants and had her windows filled with succulents and cactus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2014; 10 brothers & sisters; and a granddaughter, Cheryl Campbell.
Survivors include her daughters, Cindy Sanders and husband Ralph of Claude and Shona Able and husband John of Hobbs, NM; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
The family request memorials be sent to BSA Hospice of the Southwest.
