James D. Simpson's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, James Donald Simpson, 71, on Sept. 15, 2018.
Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 500 N. Main Street, Shamrock, Texas with Rev. Jarrod Neal, officiating.
Private inurnment will be in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock.
Local arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
James was born Dec. 27, 1946 in Amarillo, Texas to James Franklin and Dorothy Nadine Simpson. Jimmy retired from the USAF in 1991, began teaching at Clarendon ISD, and finally retired in 2007. He had a giving spirit, a heart for the Lord, and loved his family and friends dearly.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn Jo Simpson; his mother and father; brothers, Danny and Ricky Simpson; and sister, Carol Ann Smart.
Jimmy is survived by his brother, Bobby Simpson of Tehachapi, Calif.; daughters, Donda Simpson and Nena Ellis of Fort Worth, and Jayme Leatherman of Fritch; sons, Trent Copeland of Roanoke, and Darin Copeland of San Angelo; grandchildren, Amber Davis, Kenneth Davis, and Jillri Simpson of Fort Worth, Kirstyn King of Granite, Okla., Kayla Copeland of Roanoke, Sariah Copeland of Roanoke, Jaylea Wallace of Midland, Gage Leatherman of Fritch, Bella Leatherman of Fritch, and Kylia Byassee of Muskogee, Okla.; and seven great-grandchildren whom he adored.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the North Texas ASPCA or Humane Society of Fort Worth.
