James Stanley Ryan's Obituary
James Stanley Ryan, 89, of McLean, Tx passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 in Wheeler, TX. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Cornerstone Church in Wheeler, TX with Randy Stalls officiating. Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors in Wheeler, TX.
Stanley was born on January 12, 1934 in Oklahoma City, OK to Albert James and Vivian Beatrice (Roach) Ryan. He grew up in Magic City, TX. He began ranching at the age of 16 and graduated from Pampa High School. He married LaNora Earles on June 27, 1952 in Bowers City, TX. Stanley and LaNora had a Christian puppet ministry for many years. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2013. He later married Maritza Larrain on October 3, 2015 at the Bar S Ranch in McLean, TX. Stanley dedicated his life to ranching. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; a daughter, Dianne Hayward; 2 brothers, Phil Ryan and John Ryan; and one grandson, Koltan Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Maritza Ryan of McLean; his daughters, Debbie Reedy and husband, Buster, of Canyon, TX, Katty Woollard and husband, Will, of Wheeler, Emy, Malu and Pamela; his longtime farmhand and “son,” Abel Lomas and wife, Tania, of Magic City, TX; his grandchildren, Dayna Mayden, Kendal Sandlin and wife, Charlotte, Travis Reedy and wife, Lindsey, Holly Hayward, Hillary Hayward, Heather Hayward, Jack Hayward, Justin Hayward, Nickolas, Christian, Esterano and Sebastian; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Boys Ranch in Amarillo, TX.
