The San Jon, N M community, family and old friends have and will continue to miss Jim! His smile and welcoming heart was his legacy. He never judged or made others feel less, he always greeted you with smile and strong hand shake.
Most of this community may not be at his service in person, but we most sincerely will be there in heart and spirit, and love for this kind, good. forgiving, caring man.
Heaven received a special soul. Be with God, Jim rest well our dear friend.

Jim was a man with a heart as big as Texas. He will leave a big hole in this community
and is probably already looking for someone in heaven to give a helping hand to.
May God comfort his family and this community for our loss. Anne

Joyce & Family - So sorry to hear about Jim. Sending prayers your way and may God give you strength during this sad time. Paula Jacobs
As a cousin, and as a little child of about 6 , i went to spend the night at Uncle Bud and aunt Mott's. They raised sheep and I was from a farm , but didn't know anything about sheep. When cousin Jim went to do the chores I went with him, at his insistence, as if he had something in mind. There was a lot full of sheep, and Jim grabbed one and asked if I
wanted to ride it. Well I had ridden a couple of milk pen calves before and it looked like there was more to hold to on a sheep! So I got on the sheep! That disturbed the entire lot full of sheep and the were really skiddish! At that point, I think cousin Bob opened the gate to the pasture. The sheep that I was on wanted out worse than the rest of them; but the rest of the sheep were in the way of the gate opening. The sheep I was on went over the fence and upon landing on the other side dislodged me in the dirt! I think cousins Jim and Bob enjoyed that ride much more than I did! It was a memorable visit with the Philleys!
