James "Jim" Dewey Mincey's Obituary
CLARENDON SERVICES- with Fire Department and Law Enforcement Honors, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 in the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Tom Garmon, Pastor, Rev. Darrell Burton, Pastor of the Martin Baptist Church, Rev. Delmar Wiggs, Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department Chaplain, and Rev. Danny Housh, son in law, officiating. BURIAL- Citizens Cemetery Mr. Mincey was born October 24, 1944 in Lubbock, Texas to Arnold and Sarah Criswell Mincey. He had been a resident of Brownfield before moving to Clarendon 27 years ago. He married Jo Dee Vaughn on February 14, 1981 at Lubbock. He retired as a lineman for GTE, and later owned his own handyman business. He was a reserve deputy with the Donley County Sheriff’s Department, had been a lake patrolman at Greenbelt Lake, was a member of the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, had formerly been an EMT volunteer with the Clarendon EMS, was an Explorer Scout, and had served as a crossing guard for 10 years for the Clarendon Elementary School. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was the Mission Committee President. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Jo Dee Mincey of Clarendon; 6 daughters, Cathie Flud of Lubbock, Jo Ann Cline of Pampa, Eileen Hood and Georgi Housh both of Amarillo, Samantha Hinton and Edie Mincey both of Clarendon; 4 sons, Dewey Mincey of Amarillo, John Klattenhoff of Midland, Wayne Buckner and James Buckner both of Orr City, Texas; one brother, Arnold Mincey Jr. of Lubbock; 26 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity or the First United Methodist Church Missions.
