Always a cowboy at heart, James bravely fought a courageous battle, never complaining or wavering. He loved his family well and hard.
James was born on August 12, 1948, in Wellington, Texas to the late Wallace and Learline Biter. James married the love of his life, Teresa (Campbell) Biter, on November 30, 1973. James was never happier than sitting in the saddle of a good ranch horse or fishing at his favorite spot. As a father, James set the bar. His two daughters—or his “pretty babies”—could do no wrong in his eyes. His grandsons adored and looked up to him, and he thought they were the greatest gifts ever! He lovingly called them his “cowboy men,” and most recently a great grandson was added with the same nickname.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Learline Biter.
He is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Teresa Biter; his two daughters Shanda Hall and husband Richard of Shamrock, Texas, and Jamy Shriver and husband Jason Shriver of Fort Worth, Texas; his four grandsons Sheldon Hall and wife Danielle, Austin Hall and fiancé Brianna Purvis, Trevor Thompson, and Troy Thompson; his great grandson, Ridge James Hall; and multiple nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law.
The family request memorials be sent to Shamrock Meals on Wheels.
