James Alvin Babb's Obituary
James Alvin Babb of Wheeler, TX passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 in Snyder, TX at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 14 days. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Cornerstone Church in Wheeler, TX, with Rev. Erron Mercer officiating. Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, TX, with Rev. Ricky Phiel officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
James was born on June 5, 1941 in Wheeler, TX to Chester and Nora Tucker Babb. He was a lifetime resident of Wheeler. He married Nelda Gene Brown on August 20, 1965 in Wheeler. She preceded him in death on August 3, 2018. James was a mechanic and owned and operated JB Muffler Shop in Wheeler for 33 years. He loved going fishing and spending time with his family. He was previously a member of the Reydon Community Church and later attended Cornerstone Church in Wheeler.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda; and one brother, Larry Don Babb.
Survivors include his son, Brent Babb and wife Kellie of Snyder, TX; one grandson, Jayton Babb of Lubbock, TX; and two sisters, Rita Ward of Denison, TX and Melba Seitz of Mobeetie, TX.
