Jack Burl Stafford's Obituary
HEDLEY GRAVESIDE SERVICES- Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2008 in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley with Rev. Bryan Knowles, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Jack was born August 31, 1918 in Idabell, Oklahoma to Francis Lee and Exie Hoover Stafford. He married Jackie Leach on December 3, 1939, at Memphis, Texas. He had lived in Silverton from 1952-1966 and then moved to Hedley in 1966 where he has lived since that time. Mr. Stafford had owned and operated the Silverton and Hedley grocery stores from 1957-1980. After the sell of the grocery stores, he continued to farm and ranch. He loved working with his cattle, especially in the later years of his life. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hedley. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - his parents; his wife, Jackie Stafford on November 4, 2002; 7 brothers; and 3 sisters. SURVIVORS - 2 sons, Bob Stafford and wife Jean and Fred Stafford both of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. INTERMENT- Rowe Cemetery in Hedley.
