WHITE DEER
SERVICES - 10:00 am on Monday, January 19, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church in White Deer with Rev. John Westman, Pastor, officiating.
INTERMENT - Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Mrs. Stewart was born September 11, 1921 in Mena, Arkansas to Roy & Oma Wade Brock. She married Roy Stewart on May 6, 1952 in Clarendon. She attended cosmetology school in Amarillo. She also was a salutatorian of her hotel management class. She had been a resident of Clarendon before moving to White Deer to open her Beauty Shop. Later, she and her husband moved to Austin where they managed a hotel for 10 years. Then, they moved back to White Deer where they retired and made their home ever since. She was active in Bridge Club in White Deer. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in White Deer.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - her parents; her husband on January 24, 2001; three brothers, Floyd Brock, Lloyd Brock, & Boyd Brock; and a twin sister, Lorene Riley.
SURVIVORS - 2 sons, Gayle Stewart of Amarillo, & Gary Stewart and wife Jane of Austin; a brother, Orin Brock of California; 2 sisters, Marjorie Holland of Lelia Lake, & Mable Dean Wilson of Clarendon; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
