Imogene (Gena) Reid Zybach's Obituary
Imogene (Gena) Reid Zybach of Briscoe, TX, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 21 days at Parkview Hospital in Wheeler, surrounded by her family. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Allison Methodist Church in Allison, with Rev. Leonard Gonzales officiating, assisted by Alton Lohberger. Burial will follow at Zybach Cemetery in Briscoe.
Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Gena was born July 25, 1932, in Wheeler, Texas to Leonard and Zelma Reid. She graduated from Wheeler ISD in 1950 and was the Valedictorian. Gena married the love of her life, Bob Zybach, on May 14, 1950 in Wheeler. She has lived on their farm around the Zybach community for 73 years. She was a big part of running the family dairy and raising 3 beautiful children in a houseful of love. Granny loved her family more than words could express. Nothing made her happier than when everyone would get together for the holidays and celebrate in her garage that she had decorated for every occasion. Her chicken fried steak, hot ketchup, and noodles are famous. Actually, anything that she cooked were family favorites. Granny was known for her loving, compassionate nature. She was a strong Methodist for 71 years and a shining example of a Godly, virtuous woman.
Gena was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Zelma Reid; two sisters, Mary Gilliland and Ruby Francis; one grandson, John Paul Harris; and her great granddaughter, Skylar Harris.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Zybach of Briscoe; daughter, Diane Dukes and Bevard of Briscoe; 2 sons, Wayne Zybach and Kathy of Briscoe and Steve Zybach and Joy of Wheeler; sister, Sally Dillman of Carrollton; granddaughters, Deidre Henderson and Jace of Wheeler, Andrea Henderson and Philip of Forney, Carissa McCarter and Britt of Wheeler, Casey Pigg and Ben of Briscoe; grandson, Clay Zybach and Amy of Wheeler; great grandsons, Tysen Auldridge and Addyson of Amarillo, Logan Harris and Alondra of Amarillo, Todd Henderson of Dallas, Tayton Auldridge and Madalyn of Forney, Roper Pigg of Amarillo, and Rex Zybach of Wheeler; and great granddaughters, Breeley Harris of Canyon, Tatum Pigg of Briscoe, Aliyah McCarter of Wheeler, Adalyn McCarter of Wheeler and Rylee Zybach of Wheeler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Zybach Cemetery, 16230 FM 1046, Briscoe, TX 79011.
