SHAMROCK SERVICES - 11:00 am Monday, December 24, 2012 in the Church of Christ in Shamrock with Cottie Tarbet, officiating. INTERMENT- Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock. I.A. was born October 1, 1928 in Shamrock to Isaac Alexander and Laura Edna McIntosh Brooks. He married Laverne Aycock on January 5, 1951 in Shamrock. I.A. was a lifetime resident of Shamrock. Mr. Brooks served his country in the Army, and after returning to Shamrock from the service he trained bird dogs. He had been an operator at United Carbon Black, and eventually retired from there. In his free time, I.A. also raised registered Herefords. He was a member of the Shamrock Church of Christ. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his parents; all his brothers and sisters. SURVIVORS – his wife LaVerne of Shamrock; 1 son, Craig Brooks and wife Darla of Midland, Texas; 2 daughters, Beverly Jennings and husband Durand of Houston, Texas, Brenda Cook and husband Mike of Shawnee, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. The family request memorials be sent to the Tipton Children’s Home c/o the Shamrock Church of Christ.
