Herman Edward Mooring's Obituary
CLARENDON
SERVICES- 2:00 pm, Monday, October 27, 2008 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Lance Wood, Pastor, officiating.
INTERMENT- Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
On August 29, 1921, Ed and Goldie had a son and they named him Herman Edward Mooring. He grew up and went to school in the community of Goldston. In February of 1943, he joined the United States Navy. He married Anita Lois Cook on September 12, 1944 in Clarendon on a ten-day leave. On Thanksgiving Day of 1945 he was discharged from the Navy as a gunner’s mate. Herman and Anita moved to Amarillo where he worked for ASARCO for 30 years. After his retirement as an assistant superintendent in 1976, he became a partner and later sole owner of Mooring Bait and Tackle of Greenbelt Lake. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarendon.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY - his parents; a brother, B.J. Mooring.
SURVIVORS - his wife, Anita of Clarendon; a son, Robert Lynn Mooring and wife Cheri of Amarillo; a daughter, Rita Ann Craddock and husband Bill of Canyon; 2 brothers, Bill Mooring and wife Nova of Clarendon, & Arlis Mooring of Edmond, OK; 3 sisters, Juanita Dickenson and husband Brownie of Midland, Naoma Spann and husband Joe of Wichita, KS, & Genella Eads and husband Jack of Clarendon; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Smith of Clarendon, & Tina Mooring of Atlanta, GA; 5 grandchildren, Zack Craddock and wife D’Ann of Channing, Britney Stephens and husband Shawn of Irving, Tyson Mooring and wife Erica, Clint Mooring and Macey Mooring all of Amarillo; 2 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kynley Craddock.
